We're not a warehouse. We're a boutique breeding operation, every tank watched daily, every animal known personally, every shipment packed like it matters.
The ornamental shrimp market in the United States is full of high-volume sellers moving thousands of animals through generic Shopify stores with stock photos and zero soul. We got tired of buying shrimp from faceless operations and receiving stressed, poorly packaged animals with no guarantee and no real care behind them.
So we built what we wished existed. A place where the shrimp are bred right, the photography is real, the policies are transparent, and the person on the other end of the order actually cares whether your animals arrive thriving. That's Shrimp Atelier.
We run fewer tanks than we could. That's intentional. Every colony gets daily attention, water parameters checked, feeding monitored, behavioral changes noticed. You cannot do that at scale. We chose not to scale past what we can do well.
We source founding stock from proven, high-grade lineages only. Low-grade breeding stock produces low-grade offspring forever. We invest in quality genetics at the front end so every colony we sell is something worth keeping.
Breather bags. Insulated boxes. Temperature-appropriate packs. Shipped Monday through Wednesday only so your animals never sit in a facility over a weekend. This costs more. We do it anyway.
Our policies are written in plain language. Our prices reflect real quality. Our availability board shows exactly what's in stock right now, not what was in stock last month. You always know exactly what you're getting.
Before any box is sealed, every shrimp is individually inspected and confirmed alive and active. This is not a policy, it is a practice. We photograph our packing process and keep records of every order that leaves our facility.
Live animals ship Monday through Wednesday only, using overnight or priority carriers with temperature-appropriate packaging. Your shrimp will not sit in a USPS facility over a weekend. We plan our ship calendar around animal welfare, not convenience.
If any shrimp arrive deceased, photograph them within one hour of your delivery timestamp and contact us. We will replace the lost animals on our next available ship date at zero cost to you. No arguing. No hoops. Just a replacement.
Every photo on this site is taken in our tanks, of our animals. No stock photography. No imported images. What you see is what we breed, and what we breed is what ships to you.
If we don't have it, we say so. If a species is out of stock, it shows out of stock. If a drop gets delayed, you'll hear from us before you have to ask. We treat every buyer the way we'd want to be treated if the roles were reversed.
